Roving Rube

August 6, 2003

Carl Tefft's "Fountain of Life", New York Botanical Gardens

What's New

For horses with webbed feet (detail), these seem very afraid of getting wet.

One thing the Rube has been thinking about fountains and waterfalls, taking these pictures, is that the noise of their engines is nicely masked by the sound of the water. You don't hear anything but the water in any of them. And water outdoors is a sound full of good associations.
