1902-4, Ernest Flag; New York City Landmark. Red terra cotta blocks and castings are used to accent this very early example of a "steel and glass" facade (2-jpg). The Scholastic Books headquarters at left echos the terra cotta with similar blocks used in the bottom "crossbeam" to spell "Scholastic" (2-jpg).
