The Beginning
Periodically there are brief bursts of screaming from lower Times Square, and if you track it down you will find a crowd of teenagers, behind barricades, looking up at the MTV studio windows.
It must be that either the hosts, guests or cameramen of the show wave out at them every so often. The screaming starts and is over with a few seconds, like baby birds when their parents visit the nest.
