Notes (Roving Rube): The columns inside of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (the world's largest Gothic Cathedral) are so tall as to make you feel like the nap of the rug. Usually the tops are lost in the obscurity of the distant ceiling, but at a dramatic moment in the church's annual winter solstice concert, they are spot-lit from below, heralding the return of the sun.
