Notes (Roving Rube): Many of Manhattan's finest restaurants participate in Restaurant Week, where a special lunch menu is offered for the relative bargain of $20.

While the Rube eats most of his meals at Gray's Papaya and Custard Beach, he is fortunate to have a friend who keeps track of exactly when Restaurant week is each year, and schedules lunch at a different place with a different friend each day.

Although he can't remember the name of the restaurant at the moment, the Rube was enthralled with the serving plate and presentation of this Cobb salad at last year's event.
