There are not many peaceful spots in midtown this time of year, but Bryant Park is one of them.

The lights of Times Square can be seen in the middle distance -- madding crowd there. To the south, Herald Square -- madding crowd. To the north, Rockefeller Center. Seriously madding crowd.

In Bryant Park, peace and place to sit.
