Notes (Roving Rube): Coincidentally with getting his camera, the Rube started to hear his friends talking about B&H, showing off their new video cameras they had gotten from B&H, and telling the Rube he should go to B&H.
The first time he went there he was very intimidated by the size of the store, that fact that it really did have everything and then some, and the fact that everyone else in New York seemed to be there too. He did manage to find the perfect monopod, however.
This time, he wanted a tripod that was light and could fit in his bag, but still could be raised to slightly above eye-level to point up at skyscrapers.
There were rows and rows of tripods, but as luck would have it, the Rube spotted a placard which turned out to be an article by photographer who had asked a company to make him a tripod exactly like the Rube was wanting.
And they made it for him, and he got it, and the Rube got one too. It was attached to the placard. The Velbon Max i 343E.
