Notes (Roving Rube): The Rube can't yet tell you the provenance of this particular Rockefeller Center artwork*. He does remember a tour guide talking about the overly muscled men, women, children, and even babies in this piece, executed at a time with the idea of man's evolution into "superman" was coming into fashion.
One of the many World Records the Rube is claiming for his site is having the most pixels devoted exclusively to the exterior art at Rockefeller Center -- this image totals 176K, adding to an already impressive total of 1.2M of 7 other individual NYC JPGs. And we're talking not-from-concentrate extra-virgin pixels here.
*But he did get a line from Amazon.com on three out-of-print books devoted to Rockefeller Center, which he'll look for first at the New York Public Library to see which one is the "must-have" for his growing collection.
