This unique Christmas carolers display has been around for a few years now. After each carol, the spotlight shifts to the audience in the balconies on each side (Fig. 2), and there is the sound of cheering and applause as they turn from side to side.

Passersby can be the "Choir Director" (Fig 3).

The Rube is a little put off by its chilly "postmodern" feeling and siting under the dark arcade of a building (In Context), but it seems "warmer" when you encounter it at nighttime.
