In an article entitled "Friars dipped in Bronze", about statutized members of the Friars' Club, Barry Dougherty writes that the city has proposed moving the George M. Cohen statue from its longtime home near the TKTS booth. He recounts that "one man even proposed to his fiancé under George's never blinking watchful eyes because he said it represents a spot he thought would be around forever."
