Glossy Glass

1675 Broadway (at 52nd) is one of my favorite buildings for 3 reasons: its coloring (left); the illusion that the windows are projecting out on terraces created by the light and dark banding (bottom right); and the extreme glossiness of the windows -- it almost seems like they're wet.

The current AIA Guide to NYC notes that this building's "daytime glass is visually solid, and nighttime glass a see-through negligee".
