There is PLENTY of stuff blooming at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens right now, and if it wasn't so chilly and wet yesterday, and the poor Rube having a cold and all, he would have got lots more daff pictures. Oh well, a good excuse to go back next week, when the yellow magnolia (Fig. 4) will be in full bloom.
It amazes the Rube how little shoots coming out from the trunk (Fig 1) can be so loaded with blooms.
The cherries have started to bloom -- this weekend is the best to see the weeping cherries, and probably next weekend for the cherry esplanade -- the BBG updates this map of what's blooming twice weekly.
