Theme: "Street Numbers"

Talk abut your "series photography". Almost every building in NYC has a number on it somewhere. So our idea is: photograph a few thousand of them. One goal is to see how long of an uninterrupted numerical sequence you could get.

Let's just say we ended up with 1,440 pictures -- no big deal when you're dealing with digital photos. Arrange them in ascending order. Then make a screensaver of them which checks what minute of the day it is -- there are 1440 minutes in a day -- and puts up the corresponding photo. Or up the ante to a still modest 10,080 pix, and your screensaver could give you a new picture every minute of the week.

And you know, it doesn't have to be just street numbers from NYC, it could be from all over the country and even the world. Then you could put them all on a gold-plated DVD, and send it up on the next Voyager spacecraft to show those aliens what we're all about.

But for starters, we will content ourselves with the best 100 or so photos we receive and run them as a series on NYCJPG.
