The Rube hopes to take one of these tours before the end of this series; it seems like it would provide a great perspective for street photography -- just a little bit "above it all."

In fact he would like to do the 48-hour "all loops" tour -- look at all you get on this map! True, it will cost $71, but if you stay on the bus all the time except to go to the bathroom and the weather is good, it is a great bargain.

Each double-decker has a tour guide; one of the Rube's favorite movies about NYC is "The Cruise", a 1998 documentary about one of them, Timothy "Speed" Levitch. Regrettably, it hasn't been released on DVD, but this review gives a good sense of the film.
